Soprano
American vocalist, sound healer, producer, and composer Elly Kakacek is making her mark with her “unexpectedly deep and honey-colored soprano” (Parterre Box) in opera, oratorio, and contemporary music. She has been acclaimed as a “stand out performer” (Opera News) with “delicious sultriness of voice (and) smoldering lyricism” (Operawire). She sang the title role in dell’Arte Opera’s production of Princess Maleine, Zerlina in Bronx Opera’s Don Giovanni, and Cora in Fresh Squeezed Opera’s world premiere of Self Defined Circuits.
Elly is a founding member of Opera Essentia, having sung the role of Dorinda in the company’s inaugural production, Orlando: Hero of Love. She’s thrilled to return this season as Rosmene. In addition to her operatic work, Elly regularly performs original indie art pop from her latest LP “Object Permanence” at venues around the US under the moniker Elly Kace. Her albums “Untethered” and “Formless” are internationally acclaimed and on rotation for classical radio stations worldwide including WQXR, WFMT (National and Chicago), KXLU, CapRadio, In-flight Entertainment, and more. A fierce advocate for radical self acceptance, she finds joy writing music and doing yoga in her Brooklyn apartment with her incredible husband and princess bug moo-moo fuzzball wimblepop, Lyla the cat. www.elysekakacek.com, @ellykacemusic.
